Hucky Eichelmann, often described as a “Musical Ambassador between East and West,” has redefined the role of the classical guitarist by bending the genres and blending diverse global musical influences, particularly from Asia. Having lived in Thailand for over four decades, Hucky’s unique sound merges traditional and contemporary styles, creating a musical journey that bridges cultures.
His career has taken him to prestigious venues worldwide, including a concert at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, which marked his final performance of the 20th century. As the Artistic Director of the Bangkok International Guitar Festival and The Thailand Festival of the Arts, Thailand’s first-ever arts festival, Hucky played a pivotal role in shaping the country’s music and arts scene.
In Thailand, he is known for his acclaimed recordings, including interpretations of compositions by King Rama IX, which have inspired generations of young guitarists. He represented Thailand at high-profile global events such as ‘The Taste of Thailand Festival’ at London’s Regent Park, the ‘Concert to Celebrate the 7th Cycle (84th) Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Rama IX in London, the ‘The Musical Night in Celebration of the Establishment of the ASEAN Community’ at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok and the "Magical Melodies of Thailand" series, which was presented by the Royal Thai Embassy in Cambodia with the aim to strengthen ties between the Thai Embassy and the Royal Cambodian Government. He also performed as part of 66 episodes of the “Empyrean Light: A Documentary Series in Honor of His Majesty King Rama X" portraying the life and work of the King.
His collaborations with legendary artists such as Ravi Shankar, KITARO, George Winston a.m.m. further highlight his versatility and cross-genre impact.
For this concert at Mrigadayavan Palace, Hucky has created his own version of the Madanabadha Suite based on Thai classical melodies arranged by Ajarn Anant Narkkong.
